Cats to play Hawks in a Friday night blockbuster

Hawthorn will visit Kardinia Park for the first time since 2006. One of Australian Sport’s greatest rivalries will take place under lights at GMHBA Stadium on Friday 12 June.

Rounds 3 and 5 will also feature matches at GMHBA Stadium with Geelong playing Carlton on 20 June at 7.40pm and the Gold Coast on Saturday 4 July at 4.35pm

The AFL aims to release the next block of games after round 3.

In accordance with State Government’s ‘Return to Play’ guidelines, GMHBA Stadium has been classified as an ‘Elite Sporting Facility” and has been implementing a number of measures to ensure we are ready to receive both AFL team training and then AFL matches. As a result, the Stadium will remain closed to the public until further notice. This includes game days, training sessions as well as the Charles and Co Café and the Cats Shop.

The team at Kardinia Park Stadium Trust, is working closely with Government Authorities and in collaboration with the AFL and Geelong Cats will provide updates on future arrangements at the stadium when appropriate.

The Chief Medical Officer’s advice is to download the COVIDSafe app as part of the plan to save livelihoods and speed up the process of safely lifting restrictions and getting back to doing the things we love.
