The Geelong community is invited onto the ‘hallowed turf’ of GMHBA Stadium for a FREE community movie night and ‘Jurassic World Experience’ on Saturday 16 March.
One of the biggest films in motion picture history – 65 million years in the making, ‘Jurassic Park,’ will be played on the big screen for the Stadium’s first ever Movie Night.
Before the movie begins, the young and young at heart will have the opportunity to step into Jurassic World with giant animatronic Dinosaurs and interactive displays. Children will have the opportunity to paint their own 3D Jurassic World Dinosaur to take home. The Voice 2018 finalist Aydan Calafiore will grace our ears with his newest tunes, including his most recent release ‘Dust’ from 7.15pm. There will also be food trucks and a bar open on the night.
Gates will open: 6:00pm
Movie will commence: 8:00pm

GMHBA Stadium is accessible by both car and public transport. Limited paid public parking is available within the Kardinia Park Precinct on event days, with parking available in the surrounding streets. Entry to this event will be through Gate 5 - Bernie Smith Gate.

Changed traffic conditions inside the Kardinia Park Precinct will take effect pre-event. The internal road between A2 drop-off zone and A3 (Premiership Stand) car park will be closed to all traffic.
There will be no external road closures for this event.

- Do we have to book seats for Movie Night at GMHBA Stadium?
Seating is unreserved so make sure you arrive early to secure your spot on the hallowed turf. If on-ground capacity is reached, further seating will be made available in the Premiership Stand. Guests are encouraged to arrive early to find the perfect spot to view Jurassic Park on the super screen.
- Which gate do we enter through?
Entry is via Gate 5 - Bernie Smith, located on Moorabool Street (directly across from DeGrandi’s)
- Where can I park at GMHBA Stadium for this event?
Limited free car parking is available within the Kardinia Park precinct. Please refer to our helpful map for directions. The car parking within the precinct will be open from 5:30pm Car parking can be accessed from:
- Entrance A: via Kilgour Street; and
- Entrance C: via Park Crescent
- What can I bring to this event?
Patrons are encouraged to bring something to sit on, such as picnic blankets, yoga mats and bean bags, as well as blankets, pillows and warm clothing as seating is directly on the grass. Remember, GMHBA Stadium is an outdoor venue and may get cool in the evening.
- Can I bring food and drinks to this event?
Attendees are welcome to bring in a picnic to enjoy during the movie, alternatively, there will be food trucks and a bar open on the night.
- Am I allowed to bring a water bottle into this event?
Patrons are permitted to bring sealed plastic water bottles into the Stadium up to 600ml. As per the Conditions of Entry opened drink containers are strictly not permitted into the Stadium. There will be water bottle refill stations.
- What items can't I bring into this event?
Bringing your own alcoholic beverages into GMHBA Stadium is strictly prohibited, however, patrons aged 18 and are welcome to purchase alcohol from the bar open on the night. . Any seating items such as camping/deck chairs, stools etc. that event staff believe would cause dents or punctures to the turf will not be permitted into the venue. Glass, cans, breakable containers and knives, including cheese knives are all strictly prohibited at GMHBA Stadium and will not be permitted into the venue. - Can I bring sporting equipment to use on the field before the event?
No sporting equipment is permitted in to the venue for this event.
- Are pets allowed at this event?
Unfortunately, pets are not allowed to enter GMHBA Stadium, however assistance dogs are allowed.
- Am I able to bring a stroller or pram to this event?
You are welcome to bring prams and strollers into the Stadium, however for safety reasons, strollers and prams may not be permitted on the arena. Our friendly staff will assist you in cloaking your stroller or pram at he back of the Players Stand where a ‘Pram Parking Area’ will be designated.
- Is this event wheelchair accessible?
Wheelchair access into the stadium and onto the arena is available for this event and any of our friendly and helpful staff would be more than happy to assist. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org and one of our staff will be in touch to confirm the best place to arrive and access the ground.
- Can I smoke?
Smoking anywhere within stadium grounds is strictly prohibited inside GMHBA Stadium. Any person wishing smoke is required to exit the stadium to do so.
- What happens if it rains?
As this an outdoor event, there is a contingency plan in place in case the ground is too wet to sit on or if it is raining throughout the screening. We strongly recommend guests bring wet weather gear to screenings in case of light rain (note the use of umbrellas during screenings is not permitted as it obstructs the view of other audience members). Please note that the wet weather contingency plan will not be activated during the film, so a decision will be made prior to guest arrival and communicated accordingly, so please make sure you stay up to date with our website and socials. In the case where the event needs to be cancelled, we will provide advanced notice via our email/social channels. However, as weather conditions are unpredictable, we may be unable to provide lengthy notice.
