The Westfield Matildas will meet China on Sunday, November 26 at GMHBA Stadium as part of a two-game series to be held exclusively in Victoria.
The Matildas are riding a wave of success in recent years. 2015 saw them become the first Australian team, men’s or women’s to win a match in the knockout stage of a World Cup. Earlier this year, the Matilda’s won the inaugural ‘Tournament of Nations’ cup, held in the United States.
The Australia vs China match follows a host of football events that have recently been held at the Stadium, including hosting European giant Atletico Madrid earlier this year. The clash will see some of the world’s best women’s football players such as Sam Kerr, Lisa De Vanna and Han Peng battle it out in front of the newly re-developed Brownlow Stand.
