Sports House is the initial point of contact for sport and recreation clubs and groups seeking assistance for their organisation within the Barwon Region. Sports House offers a well-rounded and extensive knowledge base for information, support and referral for sport within the region.
Sports House boasts a large, friendly and welcoming open plan office area where ideas are shared and associations and organisations can work together to build on ideas and learn from one another. Within this space there are also six allocated and enclosed offices and one temporary office.
Even though Sports House is utilised as a sporting hub, some of the other functions it performs include:
- Providing a regional point of connection for state and national bodies wanting to work in the Barwon Region;
- Meeting facilities, including disabled access and parking;
- Office and administrative accommodation possibilities for the sport and recreation sector in the region, and;
- Provision of an incubator setting that will enable emerging sports and their administrators to learn from established recreation professionals
Sports House has evolved to become a valuable asset to not only the Barwon Region sporting community but also to the City of Greater Geelong community.
