Geelong’s inaugural Festival of Sport promises to be a jam-packed weekend of sport, participation and fun. On top of the opportunity to come and try an array of unique sports, fans will have the rare opportunity to view and have their photograph taken with championship trophies from some of our nation’s favourite sports.
Trophies from tennis, soccer, rugby league and T20 cricket will all be on show at GMHBA Stadium on 6 October.
The chance to have pictures taken with the Australian Open Men’s and Women’s championship cups won by tennis greats Roger Federer and Serena Williams is an unmissable experience.
Championship trophies from the NRL and soccer’s A-league will also be present. Fans of soccer will have the opportunity to view the newly redesigned championship trophy most recently won by Victoria’s own Melbourne Victory. While NRL fanatics will be able to see the premiership trophy won by Melbourne Storm in 2017.
Ahead of the Men’s ICC World T20 coming to GMHBA stadium in October/November 2020, cricket fans will have the chance to view the ICC World T20 men’s trophy, most recently won by the West Indies in 2016, and the women’s trophy, taken home by England in 2017.
