Stage 5 enabling works underway

If you’ve dropped by the Kardinia Park precinct recently, you might have noticed quite a bit of construction activity around the stadium. That’s our enabling works Contractors, and we’re excited to share that the Stage 5 Redevelopment has officially begun! These enabling works include minor demolition works around the Stadium, the diversion of underground services such as gas and electricity cables, and the relocation of our turf cricket wicket grow area to the South of the Stadium.

The enabling works will clear the way for our main works to begin in September this year. We’ll begin the main works with our Contractor establishing site within the precinct, and the demolition of the Ford Stand and Ablett Terrace. We’ll then get stuck into re-building the Northern section of the Stadium.

The Stadium will remain operational throughout the duration of the project however the area to the North of the Stadium will be a construction site as we re-build. We’ll try to limit inconveniences wherever we can, however we suggest giving yourself an extra few minutes if you’re heading down to the precinct as most areas in the North East section of the park will be closed to the public.

We thank you for your patience, will continue to keep you updated on our progress and can’t wait to share the final product with you in 2023!
