The Kardinia Park Stadium Trust, along with Football Federation Victoria (FFV) and Geelong Region Football Committee (GRFC) awarded Rose Pirrottina of the Bell Park Soccer Club the inaugural Geelong Female Football Administrator of the Year Award.
During the celebratory cocktail function, Rose delivered an emotional and inspiring speech, thanking her club and support group, whilst encouraging all involved in Geelong’s fantastic female football community.
“To female soccer, let’s keep it strong. We have got presence here in Geelong and each and every one of you are leaders,” she expressed.
Earlier in the evening, the nominees were acknowledged on GMHBA Stadium and were gifted flowers by young up and coming football players.
The award presentation was part of Geelong Galaxy’s ‘Celebration of Women’s Football ‘ at GMHBA Stadium where more than 750 spectators came to see local girls and women, from under 12’s through to the senior teams, showcase the very best football talent Geelong has to offer.
The celebration gave young women a chance to play on the same hallowed turf as the Matildas and Melbourne Victory had done months before, highlighting the pathways available for women in sport.
The Mini Roos from Leopold, Drysdale, and the Revolution Soccer Academy were there buzzing with excitement at the chance to run around on the field. Melbourne Victory were also there hosting an interactive activation for the supporters.
Thanks to the community presence and support, the day was a huge success. Kardinia Park Stadium Trust look forward to many more opportunities to support events such as these.
