Inaugural Geelong Female Football Administrator of the Year Award 2018

Kardinia Park Stadium Trust, supported by Football Federation Victoria (FFV) and Geelong Region Football Committee (GRFC) are very excited to announce the first Female Football Administrator of the Year Award.

The inaugural award will be presented to a Geelong football community member at the Galaxy’s ‘A Night of Stars’ cocktail function held at GMHBA Stadium, Saturday May 19.

Kardinia Stadium Park Trust are committed to celebrating female inclusion in sport and the award complements the amazing work of FFV and GRFC in promoting and celebrating women in sport both on and off the field.

This award includes a stunning trophy, along with a unique professional development opportunity in the next Football Federation Victoria Female Administrator Mentor Program. The program will feature intensive mentoring with Carol Fox, a communications professional specialising in women’s leadership and sports coaching.

“Our aim is to make GMHBA Stadium Australia’s best regional stadium, and to do so we must work with our local and regional community,” said Kirsten Blake, the Trust’s Community Engagement Coordinator.

“This award will provide opportunity to further the recipient’s skills and knowledge which will in turn benefit their football club. We look forward to forming partnerships that give back to the community through events, experiences and opportunities to participate. “

The selection committee for the award is comprised Jo Plummer (GRFC), Libby Mears (KPST) and Tonci Prusac (FFV).

The day will be a festival of women’s football, with the historic Women’s National Premier League clash between Galaxy United and Bulleen Lions during the day. The Galaxy’s Celebration of Women’s Football Day is free to attend and will host five exciting matches from under 12 through to the senior team. Other promotions and events will also run that complement the participation and promotion of women in sport.

The day will culminate with the ‘A Night of Stars’ cocktail function at 6pm, where guest can watch the second half of the seniors match behind the glass of the President’s Room. The award will then be presented to the Geelong regions Female Football Administrator of the Year.

Nominations for the award are open until 2nd May.
