FREE RUGBY UNION FEATURE MATCH AT GMHBA STADIUM

An exciting Rugby Union feature match between Melbourne Rising and Western Force will close out a weekend of activity and sporting fun at the Festival of Sport.

Teams will travel to Geelong on Sunday 7 October for Game 6 of the 2018 National Rugby Championships. Entry to the match is FREE, with the game kicking off at 2.30pm.

The National Rugby Championship (NRC) is a domestic Rugby competition involving seven Australian teams and one team from Fiji. The NRC is the most important club competition for players following the Super Rugby season.

NRC teams incorporate a mix of players from local squads and club competitions as well as those with Super Rugby experience.

The Melbourne Rising team is made up of Melbourne Rebels players as well as the best Victorian junior talent. Representation in the NRC provides a pathway for home grown local Rugby talent to advance to the Melbourne Rebels and eventually, the Wallabies.

The newly reinvented Western Force team competes in both World Series Rugby as well as Australia’s National Rugby Championship and currently sit in second position on the NRC ladder.

This is the second last game of the 2018 NRC season and it promises to be a thrilling end to the Festival of Sport.
