FORMER Deputy Premier of Victoria and Cats fanatic Rob Hulls will become the newest member of the Kardinia Park Stadium Trust.
Announcing his appointment, Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events, Martin Pakula, said Mr Hulls has extensive experience in state and federal politics having held a number of offices including Attorney-General.
He has a strong passion for Social Justice and is currently the Director for Innovative Justice at RMIT University.
“As a lifelong Cats supporter, Kardinia Park has provided many memorable memories for myself and my family,” Mr Hulls said.
“It is an exciting time for the stadium and I am honoured to work with my fellow Trustees as GMHBA Stadium’s reputation continues to grow.”
Kardinia Park Stadium Trust Chair, Michael Malouf, welcomed the appointment.
“I am delighted to welcome Rob to the Trust,” Mr Malouf said.
“He has made a strong contribution to the state of Victoria and his political and legal experience along with his strong community relationships will make him a valued member of the Trust.”
Mr Hulls replaces Simon Guthrie who has retired from his position with the Trust to focus on his role as a magistrate.
“On behalf of my fellow Trustees, I would like to thank Simon for his generous contribution to the Trust and wish him all the best for the future,” Mr Malouf said.
Effective immediately, Mr Hulls will commence his position on the Trust alongside existing Trustees Michael Malouf (Chair), Gillian Costa, Rebecca Casson, Dan Simmonds, Joe Calafiore and Elizabeth Mears.
