Dan Simmonds to join the Kardinia Park Stadium Trust

Minister for Sport, the Hon John Eren MP has announced that Dan Simmonds will become the newest member of the Kardinia Park Stadium Trust.

Mr Simmonds is a long term resident of Geelong with significant standing within the Geelong Community. He is a prominent and experienced lawyer highly regarded across the region for his work with Community groups, such as Committee for Geelong, Barwon Health Foundation and Deakin School of Law.

“Kardinia Park is the best regional Stadium in Australia and I look forward to working with my fellow Trustees in increasing our contribution to the economy and ‘livability’ of the Geelong Community” Mr Simmonds said.

Trust Chairman, Michael Malouf welcomed the appointment. “I am delighted to welcome Mr Simmonds to the Trust. His outstanding business and commercial acumen along with his strong community relationships will make him a valued member of the Trust” he said.

Minister for Sport John Eren said Mr Simmonds will add further expertise and local experience to the Trust.

“Dan has made an outstanding contribution to the Barwon area over many years – his passion and strong presence on the ground will be an invaluable asset leading Kardinia Park into the future.”

The key focus of the Trust since its inception in 2016 is to ensure Geelong’s prime asset, Simonds Stadium, located at Kardinia Park, continues to drive increased investment and benefits for the Geelong community.

Effective immediately Mr Simmonds will commence his position on the Trust alongside existing Trustees Michael Malouf (Chair), Rebecca Casson, Gillian Costa, Simon Guthrie, Professor Jane den Hollander and Elizabeth Mears.
