Big Bash returning to Geelong

The Melbourne Renegades have reaffirmed their commitment to the Geelong region with the Renegades’ KFC BBL|14 home opener locked for GMHBA Stadium.

The Renegades will take on the Hobart Hurricanes on December 19 from 7.15pm in the first of five home matches for the new season.

It extends the club’s strong partnership with Victoria’s largest regional centre and reaffirms its commitment to showcasing Big Bash cricket within the region, with the Renegades hosting 10 BBL games at GMHBA Stadium since January 2018.

In spite of last year’s rain-affected fixture, there have been some thrilling Big Bash cricket staged at Kardinia Park with the likes of home-town hero Aaron Finch and internationals superstar Dwayne Bravo taking centre stage.

This summer’s clash with the Hurricanes won’t be any different with top flight batsman Jake Fraser-McGurk set to partner with new recruit and fellow power hitter Josh Brown at the top of the order for the first time in front of a home crowd.
