AFL Barwon Locks In GFL Finals at GMHBA Stadium


Kardinia Park Stadium Trust are pleased to announce the Geelong Football Netball League (GFNL) Blood Toyota football finals series will be played at GMHBA Stadium for the next three years.

GFNL is regarded as the highest quality league in regional Victoria and the Trust’s CEO Michael Brown is thrilled with the new agreement made with AFL Barwon.

“In achieving our vision to be recognised as Australia’s best regional Stadium, we will continue to work in partnership with our local and regional community. The agreement to see the Blood Toyota football finals series continue to be held at GMHBA Stadium is a tangible example of our commitment to developing community sport.”

AFL Barwon Region General Manager Lee Hartman is also delighted with the agreement to keep the Finals at GMHBA Stadium.

“It is a great result for AFL Barwon and the GFNL to lock the finals in at GMHBA Stadium for three years,” he said. “The best ranked community league in Victoria playing at the best Stadium in regional Victoria is a win for all concerned.”

“As we have seen for many years, the finals stage is the showpiece of the season and it is just reward for players and officials alike. I would like to thank the Kardinia Park Stadium Trust for their help in reaching this agreement, and look forward to having this period locked in without the pressure of annual negotiations. It is a great result,” Hartman said.

The GFNL Finals will be held on the weekends of September 1-2, 8-9 and the 15th– concluding with the Blood Toyota GFNL Grand Final being held on Saturday, September 22nd.
